Being retired...............

I am no longer concerned with suits, sport jackets, etc. My dress, day in and day out, is casual. Starts our with a good belt. All my holsters for concealment are IWB clip models. Always wear a light t-shirt as I don't want my gun touching my skin. Over that I'll wear a light shirt either tucked or untucked. If its somewhat cold I have several light, sleeveless vests which will cover just about any handgun.

If I find myself fortunate enough (Oregon weather is "variable") to be able to wear shorts or sweats I have a S&W 442 with a Barami Hip Grip which is just right when my dress is light. Good shooting:)

I'll bet thats a cute outfit, a kilt and a Hawaiian Shirt !

You dont clash do you??

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wear a Kilt quite often and also wear Hawiian shirts. But I've never worn both at the same time!:uhoh: tom.LOL.

I just pull the string tight. I've got enough padding for that to hold them up.

Most of you guys seem to cope well . me........ I am always aware of how easily things ''print''. PA law states that the concealed weapon must not be visible and if seen and someone complains then, in theory .... you can be in deep dodo!

My winter carry, as now, is not a problem .. my P95 usually in Bianchi sho rig - or occasionally the FEG ....

Summer tho!! I sweat a lot and cannot cope with too much clothing ... sho rig is out and t shirt often not enough to avoid the butt of snubby showing a bit. Fanny pack occasionally a last resort with a .22 auto mouse gun.

Have to say .... always a problem in summer.

what ever i want since

I got my galco ultimate second ammendment holster. The only requirement is to have a belt, or tight fitting pants. Tuck or untuck it works with both ways. Check it out.

1) Wear IWB holster while being fitted for suit or slacks, better fit=more comfort and better concealment.

2) Wear belly-band rig high on body almost under arm, then cover with a big dress shirt tucked in. I had one of the buttons on the dress shirt removed then sewn on the front placket. Sew velcro strips on the inside to keep shirt closed where button was taken off. Seperate velcro with hand reach inside grab pistol and your in business. Not the quickest but comfortable and low profile.

3) While wearing a suit place a lapel pin on opposite side of the gun,it draws people's attention away from the bulge under your jacket.

4) Wear military shirt stays (they attach to the bottom of your shirt and then to the top of your socks).Keeps your shirt tucked in especially when carrying IWB.

Hey Vern....

nice job on the home-made IWB. I also make most of my holsters and will incorporate some of your ideas.
Thanks.

Folks, drop by the local hobby/leather store and buy some thread, needles and scraps of leather. You will be amazed at what you can do if your are the least bit creative.

I can usually hide my glock 17 using an uncle mikes soft iwb holster. My pants are almost always jeans or jean shorts a size bigger then I wear to allow extra room for comfort. I'am a tall thin guy so an extra large t shirt gives me plenty of room to hide things.

That being said I've haden't needed to change my dress at all except for the above mentioned ways. FWIW you would be surprised at just how unobserveant most people really are. I don't know about other states but FL. law simply states the weapon must be hidden from normal view.

I don't think a cop would arrest a good citizen for a printing handgun if it was unintentional. However I always gto my best to conceal fully not because of a police officer makeing me but a bad guy. The whole point of ccw is the element of surprise.

Stay safe regards.

darn!

I was hoping I would be the first to mention the kilt idea!

Another one people don't think of is bell-bottoms. Have a pair I made in high school (yes, I was young and stupid). Went walking around with a replica govt 1911 strapped at my ankle: it disappeared...

For a shirt, look at medieval re-enactors: those Ren shirts allow you to hide almost anything...

darn it Gomez! I looked at the Kilt sites you mentioned, and now I have to get one. grrr... I'm ordering an AmeriKilt on Friday. it's got a "tactical" sporran!!! fanny pack? what's that? my MK40 will be in my sporran.

Now, just stay away from those girls with the patent leather shoes. :)

3. Nicer summer wear: Shorts with belt loops, tuck in the T-shirt, and add a Gaucho shirt or Hawaiian shirt untucked. Square tail looks best, of course.

Here it works most of the year and when it doesn't, substitute jeans and a heavier outer shirt.

Nobody that doesn't carry looks, those that do wonder what you got.
