Well I was going to buy a sps varmint and put a nice stock on it. It would come out to about $750-$875 depeding on the stock.

The FN would be a little less, but I like the 700 action more than the 70 action. So what makes the FN rifle any better?

The allen screws come with the rifle

Does that mean they come with the barreled action?

Does this mean everything I need comes with the action and stock?

Put the two together and roll or do I need anything else? (smithing, parts, special tools etc)

When i ordered mine i ask if it came with the allen screws to assemble the rifle and i was told it came with everything you need to put it together.

Lets hope this is true, but i don't have any doubts that it will they have always been very truthful about what they tell you.

Kenny.

Would someone who has/will receive one please post a few photos of the assembled rife?

Thanks a million.

A little more info from CDNN:

The Hogue stock has 2 sling studs up front.

They do not have extra magazines.

Comes with hardware.

I was told Both the 20" and 24" barrels are fluted (I was a little confused by the way the ad reads).

Hmm. Having second thoughts. I already have a 10fp, and it's a pretty nice rifle, already in .308.

Edit: Oops, already processed. Oh well, i'll find something to do with it. :p Heck, can probably resell it for $700-800 easy.

just ordered on in 20 inch, and also some of the discount Leupold Gold Ring 8x32 binos they've got on sale for $449. Looks like I've got a good secondary elk kit for under a grand. I'll take it.

Great. Now I have to decide between this and a Del-ton M4gery. What to do, what to do.......

The FN rifles are an exceptional value at the price CDNN is selling them and won't be offered this cheaply forever. You can pretty much get a Del-Ton whenever you like (even though I'd recommend Stag over Del-Ton if you're looking for a lower end AR).

Well guys mine came in today but only 1 problem the stock didn't arrive with it but called CDNN and they are sending a new one out to me today or monday.
was really hoping to put it together tonight and get some pictures posted but i guess that will have to wait for a few days now:(

I have a list of guns that I plan on buying but somehow I keep buying ones that aren't even on it like this one. I guess I'm a sucker for a good deal.

To those of you who have done this: Is there a proper method to mounting the stock? Do the screws have a particular torque value? Is it appropriate to use loctite at all?

There is already a thread compound on there that will prevent the screws from backing out. I just tightened the screws until they stopped turning and then applied a good twist of the allen key. I cant wait to get mine to the range.

I hate you guys. I want one but I can't really afford one unless I sell my shotgun and go with a single shot for deer season.:banghead:

Edit...moved to my post about crowns. I don't have a suitable optic yet, so pics are forthcoming.

I don't mind. ;) I beg of you for a photo of the entire rifle. What length barrel did you get and is it fluted?

Mine arrived today - got it cleaned and lubed - scope mounted and I adjusted the trigger down to 3lbs (from 6) - hope fire it tomorrow. I am right happy at this moment.

308 / 24inch - fluted - 522 delivered 25 ffl - not bad all.:neener:

20", and yes it's fluted. I might be able to actually get it to the range tomorrow to test and take a photo, since I have a larue SPR mount that's detachable on another one of my rifles (any optic is better than no optic, and I'm not testing for zero).

Mine came the other day. The Hogue stock fits like a tight glove in the tang and magazine areas and the barrel floats nice. I tried to exert as much pressure as possible on the fore-end to see if it would cause a problem and it seems to be stiff enough to do the job. I should be able to get it out to play this weekend. I got one and a friend got one too. One thing I thought was strange was the underside of bolt on mine was electro-penciled with the last four of the serial number. The one my friend got was not. Does anyone have a clue on the story behind these guns or the electro-penciling? I posted this on the thread about the stocks too. I put it over here to see if anyone has a clue about the electro-penciled serial number.
