I bought one of these to day at a local shop.

"Model 144LS-B -- last generation of the 144 series, 27 inch barrel, 15/16 inch in diameter, 44 inch overall length, new Mossberg S-331 aperture, Lyman 17-A front sight, 8.5 lbs. Mfg. 1979-1985."

Here what one looks like:

This is not my rifle but for who may be interested in looking at one.

It was in Excellent shape very little wear.

Paid $250 for it,took it home shot it at 35 yards and held a 5 shot group of a size of a quarter. Considering open sights and a heavy clean breaking trigger I thought that was good for me.

I used Standard Velocity CCI 22 ammo.

Anybody looking for a great shooter look for one of these rifles and enjoy.

Have a great Independence day!

Good find, I used one of the single shot models in 4H and it was really accurate (for 20 yards anyways). I wish Mossberg would make the single shot ones with a synthetic stock again.

just picked up a ruger frontier for independance day... i'm so weak, any excuse to acquire a new gun.

didn't follow you on your mossberg path, though... already have one. good rifle!

enjoy your purchase!
