I have been wanting to get an AK clone so I can use the less expensive 7.62x39 ammo. I like that the Century Arms Centurion 39 Sporter Rifle is American made. The price is up to $960 now.

Has anyone got one, if so how do you feel about this rifle? I want one for target shooting and a stand by weapon just in case. How will it handle steel cased ammo? soft point ammo? HP ammo? Any thoughts about this rifle?

They are a decent gun, much better than a Century parts gun build. $960 is too much for that gun by at least $100. If you are willing to spend close to $1k, buy an Arsenal or nicely done Saiga, they are top of the line, and will hold their value much better.

Spend another $200-300 and get an Arsenal SGL-21 or VEPR. AK prices are VERY crazy right now, if you are going to buy one it is going to cost you. If you are going to spend that kind of money you may as well get the best quality. IMO century simply does not make/assemble any AK worth the kind of money you mentioned.
