A week ago I bought my first semiautomatic rifle - The Century Arms
Tanatal and I finally got a chance to shoot it today. I shot it freehanded
and had a few misfeeds at first. (probably the way I loaded the magazine,
I'm a newb with semiauto rifles) I was impressed that all of my shots seemed
to be tightly grouped and with the low recoil it was a pleasure to shoot even
with the wire stock. After the first magazine and some new shooter fumbling,
things got better. I did have a couple of light primer strikes and the rifle
seemed to be shooting to the left a little bit. I ended up firing 120 rounds
and all and all, I believe I've got me a fun gun for plinking and target shooting.
Bench rest shooting will tell the tale as far as accuracy. Now, I've got the
semiauto bug (I'm already thinking about my next purchase). I may replace
the wire stock with a triangle folder for better stability, especially with rapid
fire. I shot Silver Bear 55 grain and 60 grain ammunition and there were no
keyholing issues.
