I am thinking of Cerakoting a Para GI Expert with a cruddy & dinged Para Kote finish. Anyone have any experience with that on a 1911? I wanted to Parkerize it, but I'm not sure the steel will take the phosphating if it's MIM. Don't know, but I am suspicious. I looked around here & on several 1911 forums but haven't been able to learn what steel it's made of, or if it will Parkerize, so I am now putting Cerakote on the short list (depending on what it costs - if anyone could enlighten me I would really appreciate it). The gun shoots fine but I really hate the scratched "paint" finish
