I got a Remington 7600 in 30-06 on a trade a couple months ago,and it has see-thru mount, and an old Bushnell Sportsman..I have been on the fence about whether to remove the scope, and mount, and just use the irons,or re-scope it.Well to make a long story short I stumbled across an EBay auction for a Challenger USA by Weaver 2.5-7 scope with weaver rings, and #62 base. It's steel tubed, and everything is in nice condition, and American built..I found it with just minutes to spare, and knew the base would fit my gun,so I bid,and won it...I started researching it a little after I bought it,and realize they ain't considered on par with some other steel tubed Weavers..The Marksman Weavers also ain't well thought of,but I had one,and liked it....Have any of you ever had any expierence with this line of Scopes?...I don't expect great optics, but I have always had confidence in the zero holding capabilities of the old steel tubed Weavers..Are these scopes at least decent enough to make a decent scope for an Eastern hunting rifle?...thanks
