Chamber loaded Boresighter? Aimshot?

You will never shoot enough ammo to save enough for one or these things to pay for its self. You should be easily be on paper without one for the 1st shot without one. All of the tools made for this are a complete waste of money.

These are photos of a recent range session where I zeroed 3 different scopes. These are the 1st shots at 50 yards. All 3 rifles were zeroed at 100 yards with less than a dozen rounds.

I mount and remount red dots a lot across my various pistols, so a boresighter is critical for me to save time and ammo. I found the most accurate ones are NOT the in-the-chamber ones, but the ones you put into the end of the barrel with an arbor to tighten it. I have one I got from Midway that I really like. I have several of the chamber models and none is as accurate.

I bought one. Lined up at 100 yds against neighbors house. Went to range. Not on paper at 50 yds. Got a bunch of sandbags, looked down bore after" sighting in", and saw NOTHING!!!

Put bore on target, zeroed scope. On target within a number of shots.

I posted experience and almost everyone said they are worthless. Certainly my experience.

Have to agree. You aren't wasting money shooting rounds to get on paper. It should really only take one round to get on paper if everything is mounted properly and checked before going to the range. Guns are for shooting after all. Part of that process is sighting it in. If you're worried about a couple rounds you probably aren't going to be shooting that gun very much anyways. And it's not like any of the rounds listed are going to break the bank or are in short supply. Save your money, buy an extra box of ammo, and go have some fun.

I accomplish the thing with a tennis ball on a fence post behind the house. At 20 yards, I'm usually within an inch or two @ 25 yards with the 30-06, 8x57, or 7x57. At 100 yards, it's within about 6-8 inches.

If you sight it in at 100 yards so that the reticle is hitting the laser dot, you'll be shooting way low. The bullet might not even cross the line of sight at all. ever. Depends on the load.

I have bought several in the chamber bore sights. I returned everyone one of them because they died real quick. Maybe these bore sights are better made now. But someone I know in my real life has to get one that lasts a couple years for me to buy another one.
