So - what's the scoop on the Sig Sauer P220 Elite .45?

Second hand new price points? Good deal, fair, and too much?

Near new condition. Shot little. Seller fell on hard times. $600. Black finish. Includes OWB Blackhawk holster and box of ammo. Has the original package and tag, which states he paid $850.

Back to the question, opinions please.

The first question is does it have the internal or external extractor? The internal extractor in a milled stainless steel slide can have tension issues which will cause FT/FTE and cause the last round of a mag not to feed. These are the issues which lead to the external extractor which is now standard.

I would pass on the internal extractor. If it is the external I would consider it. $600 is a fair price if you consider the hoster and ammo which is worth may $50.

For that price, I'd take it in a heartbeat (if you trust the seller and what he's telling you)

Price and extra's are more than fair..

...

As a shooter, the extra beaver tail aids the shooter IMHO..

As a ccw IWB carry piece the extra tail adds potential garment hang-up and if OWB it will not hurt.

Price with extra's is a very good package deal IMHO.

Got to say, owning a Sig P220R/45 w/ just over 1800 flawless rounds over 5yrs, it is the best, on-going, shooter w/the least amount of time needed to acquire it's full value/accuracy along with, like flying a plane or riding a bike, once back on, or in, after some long down times, in-between, it feels just the same once you get back on, in, or back in hand like it was yesterday.

Very forgiving gun

Do not ignore the advice about the internal extractor. I learned the hard way.

the features on the elite are

1)rosewood grips
2)extended beaver tail on grip
3)short reset trigger
4)night sights
5)extra serrations on the front of the slide

$600 is a steal of a price

I have one and love it to death. have never had a malfunction

Buy it. Then I would like to speak to you about your ratty old P220 Elite. I will give you $70, since it's third-hand and all. :D

Do you get any warranty at all from the seller? How much has the gun been shot?
I am pretty certain SigArms would replace any part that is found to be defective once the new owner starts shooting it more than the first owner. In fact, it would surprise me if they DIDN'T Take care of him!

Bought it today. Got it home. Examining it. Looks practically new. Bonus is that it has night sights. Weapon feels great in the hand. Nice balance and trigger. Box and a half of hollow points and fmjs.

Oh, and it appears that the extracter is external.

...

Without doubt, you're gonna enjoy this/your Sig 220/45

You did right,

We need pics and a range report asap

Enjoy, as I sure do with mine -

And, many of us recommend using gun grease for the slide, and frame guide, rails.. (Tetra white gun grease works for me)
