Changing stocks: Should I mess with a good thing?

I have two 700's that had the Remington tupperware stock, and both showed improvement after I put them in B&C Medalist stocks. All in what you want.Restocking it won't likely hurt the accuracy, and will probably make it better to shoot because you can hold it better.

This is simple physics. It is all about removing the amount of variables one doesn't control and affect consistency.
Changing or fixing a stock is a very simple way to improve things to one degree or another.
If we could make something that removes as many variables as possible, that was cost effective and that could be carried comfortably all day,
we all would do that but in reality, at some point we are going to consider where is the reasonable trade off based on intended use and budget.
Like physics itself, the firearms and ballistics world is always a world of trade-offs of some sort.

Shot it today and walked away happy although I was sweating the first 6 to 8 shots. After the bedding job I went ahead and cleaned the barrel real good. As the first pic shows it was shooting all over at first! I let the barrel cool and changed targets and shot 8 shots(second pic) looks like it’s coming back together . I’m guessing the bedding job changed the point of impact so I will have to reset the scope?

It doesn't have to change but if it changes there is an explanation. Just readjust the zero and hopefully will settle there in no time.
Remember also the amount of torque in the action screws has an impact and you can slightly adjust those to play a bit with the tune.
right group looks awesome. It looks that you can stack them pretty good. You did an awesome job salvaging that stock.
you can probably feel it too and there is no risk of interfering with the barrel like with all the flex before, right?
Thanks for keeping us posted.

Funny you should ask this; I "upgraded" my 10/22 LVT's stock to a nice thumb hole model I was sure was going to give me better everything, and so far it has been an uphill slog. Accuracy, comfort, all of it has been compromised so much that I'm ready to put the factory stock back on, just to see if it's me or what. I may settle into the new stock over time, but right now I'm wondering if it was a smart move. Time will tell; if you are happy with how your rifle handles now, you may want to hold off.
