Very dirty gun, last cleaned about 2300 rounds, total now a bit above 3800 rounds, about 3000 Wolf (Approx. half the old lacquer, remainder the new polymer coated), about 600 rnds of my lead SWC using Unique, and about 200 of various factory JHP which it handled without problems.

Had a few minor problems out of the box which I detailed in "Good Day At The Gun Show" thread.

Not too bad from the outside, been using "Dupont Performance Multi-Use" lube. Only wiping down before returning to the safe after shooting.

At first I thought it couldn't reliably feed my SWC reloads, but I'd realized the OAL had crept out over the years to feed my Colts, making them about 0.050" shorter seems to have done the trick as I've shot four hundred rounds of of the shorter loads without problems while mixing in a few boxes of the longer loads to watch the failure to feed problems return -- interestly nearly all of them feed from the mag the second time after clearing, failures are only 3-5 per hundred but this is enough PITA that I'll load at the slightly shorter OAL from now on since this doesn't cause problems in my other guns.

Here's the guts, had a few failure to feed and failure to extract the last 300 rounds so I figured it needed cleaning, but the last box of Wolf functioned 100% despite the grime:

Don't see any unusual wear. IMHO not bad for a ~$400 gun of all cast parts.
I'm very happy with the way it shoots.

Let's hear it for Chucky D!
My EFS is going strong [about 2,000 rnds.]
after some polishing and a few drop in parts.
Glad I made the purchase

I get the distinct feeling that Armscor/Charles Daly/Rock Island Armory 1911's are very much like all other manufacturer's 1911's. Some are great right out of the box, some are lemons; it's luck of the draw. Glad to hear you are having great success with your CD, they really are low cost 1911's.

My wife probably spends as much on manicures and pedicures as I do on guns, add in the hair salon and its definitely more! :)

She didn't want me to use the pic because her polish was chipped! I almost didn't post these 'cause I couldn't get enough depth of field in the photos as I'd have liked.

You didn't even mention shoes, handbags and trips to the spa :)
My defense tool budget is about 15% of her erhmmm 'beauty indulgence' allocation.

I'm too well trained.

Follow up, perfect function returned after this cleaning.

A follow up for anyone who can't believe a "cheap" 1911 like this can be any good.

As I said I had a few failures to feed/extract in the last 300 rounds of this very dirty gun which told me it was time for a cleaning.

Today I shot 50 rounds of my deaper seated lead SWC realoads and 100 rounds of Wolf with zero problems in the cleaned gun.

Anyone else let their guns get this dirty? Except for my carry guns its pretty much SOP for me, I wipe 'em down and put them back in the safe cleaning only when they tell me they need it by having a few failures.
