I just need to vent!

I went to the Charlotte "crappy" gun show over the weekend, looking for a S&W 610 (10mm revolver). I saw a used one, selling for $620. That's B.S., I would never pay that type of money for a used, scratched up pistol.

Actually the Greensboro show is pretty decent. Of course they only have the last weekend in January and the last weekend in August. Of course I might like because my wife does my Valentines shopping at the January show and Anniversery shopping at the August one.

Honestly, it wasn't worth the wasted gas and $7 admission fee. It was all junk. Plus, there were no deals out there. I could go online and find better deals. Plus, what's up with all of the Civil War memrobelia (sic).

Sunday was a bummer too..

Yeah, I went down Sunday with a couple of guns to sell and there were so few people, with so little money, that I only stayed a couple hours. And didn't see a thing on the tables to tempt me. One dealer did have a good looking Colt ?Delta Elite? in 10mm in a presentation case. I think it was a numbered edition or something...for a mere $1200. I'm wondering if Hickory on 25-26 June will be any better.

ulflyer, My wife and I drove up to Hickory for a gun show....once....only once. I was quite convinced that a tractor trailer carrying airsoft and camo stuff had to have flipped on I-40 and they were trying to sell the stuff off as opposed to moving it somewhere. Very little guns.

By the way I haven't had a chance to answer your emails, cannot access the home account from work.

If I'd known about the show at Charlotte, I probably would have went, but advertising of gun shows in Charlotte, when two hours away, is typically by word-of-mouth.

As for Hickory, I went to a guitar show there, once, and they had a gun show in the other conference hall of the building. I got a ticket for the guitar show and it let me into the gun show, too. Bad thing was, there wasn't anything worth having, so I didn't buy a single thing from either one of the shows. :scrutiny:

Hickory

I went to Hickory in March and even tho its a lot of the same dealers that are at Charlotte I managed to get one decent buy off a private table and sold one at a fair price. And I like the wide aisles they have. With summer coming on, everything slows down and seems to get worse on into fall.

Just realized theres a fly-in on that saturday at Lake Norman and if wx is good I'll go to that instead; otherwise I'll give it another try.
