Charter Arms .22 revolver?

I found a Charter Arms, stainless steel, .22 revolver at a local shop. It appeals to me. How does this revolver compare with the Taurus .22 revolvers?

I've never seen a Charter Arms 22 or any of the "new" CA's for that matter. I do have one of the old CA 38 snubbies, and it's a darn good gun. Probably better than the Taurus' I've had in the past. Maybe about the same, since all the Taurus' I've had worked fine too.

It's not a Smith & Wesson, Colt, or Ruger. I suspect you know that already. Having said that, if I was in the market for one, I'd look it over and if it seemed well built to me, I think I'd take a chance on one. If it didn't work, I'd sell it, trade it, keep it...and move on to something else.

I had one about a month ago. It has potential but watch out for extremely tight chambers. Almost had to get a hammer to eject spent rounds. Got worse the more I shot. I had heard that this could be an issue of the chambers being bored with worn equipment and not getting the correct clearance. Ask the dealer to drop in some snap caps or dummy rounds to make sure they will chamber effortlessly.

Also, on the Taurus, check the ratchet area of the ejector that engages the hand for proper machineing. All notches should be uniform.
