OK, I picked up a very clean, early manufacture, Charter Arms .38 spl Undercover model yesterday.

Now I'm looking for aftermarket grips for it. The tiny (very) wood grips that are stock on the older models are at best a finger and a half grip for me.

Does anyone know which Pachymr or other manufacturer makes grips that will fit a Charter Arms frame?

I also read somewhere that there are S&W models that use identical and interchangeable grips but I can't find it with the Search function.

My CA has a pair of black rubber Sile grips that fit and shoot great.

Check on eBay for Sile grips. They are not made anymore.

I've got a late 80s Undercover that has been a really great gun too. However, I have to agree with you on those stock wood handles, yuk!

As I was carrying mine, I put the same grips that some of the more recent Undercovers have on mine. These have the third finger groove on the bottom of the grip frame. I know that sounds weird but, it really fit my hands well and now its the best point-shooting snub I've got. For a pic of the grips I'm talking about check out:

I got them by calling the factory. They're cheap, ugly, small, and work well for CC...YMMV.

If you want a larger rubber grip, you might try ordering the grips the factory uses currently:
Charter Pathfinder

That pic is of a 22LR Pathfinder but from inspection at the local dealer, it looks like they will fit.

As for aftermarket rubber or wood grips, I have no idea, but would be interested to know if there are any out there.

Oh, one other option would be a Tyler T-Grip http://www.t-grips.com/

I have Pachmayrs on both my Bulldogs. Had a pair on my Undercover but replaced them with some Jay Scott wooden grips ('cause they was purty). The current three finger grooved rubber factory grips work fairly well. For me, Pachmayers work better than anything else i've tried.

If you're asking will S&W grips fit a Charter, there's none that i know of. The grip frame on the Charter Arms is completly different than the S&W.
