Charter Arms quality

Taurus does make a .327, but they're currently unavailable afaik. They also have an 8 shot .22 Mag, the 942, they're on par with Charter in price, but again, availability with Taurus revolvers is questionable. It has gotten better the past 6 weeks.
I don't want to take this too far off track this was all about my charter arms experience.

About 60 days or so FFL back to FFL?

Did you reach via the phone? I think of a lot paperwork is involved in destroying a firearm under warranty service.
$40 out of my pocket to ship it.Tentatively 2 months turn around for a replacement gun of the same model. Emails gone unanswered and the few that were acknowledged just stated that they had it. I don't know what the FFL transfer fee is going to be; that's gonna come out of my pocket also. I will update with that.
I have the crimson trace pink laser grip for the charter arms revolvers invested into this as well as a pink fobus paddle holster. If I get $400 out of the whole thing I will be taking about a $250 loss on a brand new gun.

Outside looking in......I have watching this closely from the start.

They are a small company and the customer service representatives are not spring chickens. I am not blaming you, but I told you to call. Hi-Point is the same way. They are not going to send you status updates from their apple watch. They are going to have Mavis pull your number out of the directory and transfer the call.

Shipping should have been reimbursed once a defect was found. The FFL should take care of you if he wants your business.

Accidents happen to expensive guns too. You get a control alt delete. Aluminum guns have a trade offs. Would I be upset, yes. But I would understand. I am looking at an off duty.

Call Nick and see if can reimburse the shipping, he might even take care of the transfer.

Side note: Davidsons has a lifetime warranty on all their firearms, they didn't pay the transfer fee.

Good luck

I'm chalking this up to a lesson learned for the third and last time.

Yeah. 3 strikes and they're out, I wouldn't give them another at bat.

I will say that I have had some luck with my Professional, but I'm going to avoid newly made Charters for many years to come. The gen 1 Charters I'm not concerned about, but there are equally good revolvers available for less money.

The name Charter Arms and the word “quality” do not belong in the same sentence. I’ve made similar comments before and people have jumped all over me on this forum. And yes, some iterations of the original guns made years ago were likely much better than what the current Charter Arms company is making today. What they are calling a gun today is exactly what your pictures are showing. I’m sure Charter will replace your gun. When you get the new one, don’t shoot it. Don’t dry fire it. Take it down to your LGS and trade it in for a better gun. If you want a gun comparable in size to your Charter, my recommendation would be a Ruger SP101. They’re built like tanks, will last a lifetime and the grips are easily re-configurable with a wide range of after market grips.

Nick should read this thread ….
Last night .. a fellow wanting a budget snubbie in 357.. His question Taurus 605 or Charter Mag Pug
I told him the 605 .. hands down
Mostly because of this thread …
And the lack of customer service…
Personally.. if was Nick .. id do the Man thing
admit the problem and rectify it At absolutely no cost … and would have done it ASAP

Other than 2 months of my life and $40 to ship the gun back, I'm at square one. Had the gun been upgraded to the chic lady like I requested I'd be ok. I figure that the Chic lady has some polishing done to it so there's more attention to detail and reasoning that it would be a better gun. I'd eat the shipping cost without complaint. However I am back to where I started with a new charter arms Pink Lady and $40 in the hole. Just not worth it anymore.

One of the inconvenient realities that I'm coming to understand is that distributors are the gun manufacturers' customer, the end user is merely a consumer.
