Charter Arms quality

Let's not bring cars into this discussion, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Charter's are obviously being built to a price point and their ultralight models are using plastic to reduce weight on top of cost cutting. That doesn't excuse parts not being deburred or frames cracking.

The way things are now, Charter's are on par with Jennings, Jimenez, Lorcin, Davis, etc. in terms of quality. The Professionals are probably the best models Charter makes, but even mine had the transfer bar break in two pieces after maybe 1000 trigger pulls, most of them dry firing.

I'm not dry firing it as much since then, but if it breaks again then I'm probably going to move on from it because while I like the concept of a 7 shot K frame .32 Mag in a 20oz gun, I've not liked the execution of it by Charter.

I have owned alot of Charters .. only grip frame I cracked on one was a aluminum grip frame.. I have had zero problems out of the polymer grip frame …
I don’t think Charters QC is up to par … its been lacking since the Covid outbreak… they are a small company… and I can see how something like that can effect them … also labor issues..
I have been in nursing management for just over 20yrs … I know how labor issues effect positive outcomes … they do come with lifetime warranties and they stand behind their products…
I think I own only 5 Charters at this time .. all are good to go … 44 Boomer , 44 Bulldog, 40 S&W ,
& 45acp Pitbulls and a 6 shot 357 Mag Professional

That’s good to know, and follows what I have seen as well. Plus, I found a new 44 Bulldog someone wants to let go cheap!

The owner replied today. The plant is on a week shutdown because of the independence holiday. He said he would look into this Monday when they reopen.

Assuming one week off for Memorial Day and one week off for Independence Day thats 5 working weeks my gun has been there.

May 22nd and counting.

Doesn’t sound bad … taking that in consideration..

Id say ur getting a new revolver …
I could abide by that if it's upgraded to the chic lady at no cost to me because I'm gonna have to pay new FFL transfer fees for a new gun. My original gun returned and repaired if possible would not cost me anything to put it back in my hands.

Monday Sandy sent me an email asking for the dealer I shipped from, I responded with this information for a second time.

Wednesday I emailed Sandy asking for some sort of status update.

Today end of the work week I haven't been told anything.

May 22nd and counting.

Next week will be telling, if they can't get you a firm answer on its status, nor give you an offer of a full replacement of the same model or a different one, then Charter's vaunted customer service has lost its shine.

Charter seems like it's on par with the Taurus of 15 years ago.

Got an email today saying that it is on the way via United States Postal Service. It was not upgraded to the chic lady as I asked. It is the standard Pink Lady replacement. It's going to be a new gun which I will have to pay additional FFL transfer fees for. The PDF file just says "damaged" regarding the reason for the replacement.
I'm going to let my girlfriend decide if she wants to even bother with it anymore since she's been carrying my 432PD.

Should she decide she doesn't want it I will just put it up for sale brand new with box paper and a pair of pink laser grips.

CH’s rep sure isn’t good judging from the online reviews and returns for warranty work.

Because anything in 32 caliber from another manufacturer it's gonna be very pricey I'm thinking maybe a J frame 22 magnum because of the light recoil need.

Taurus does make a .327, but they're currently unavailable afaik. They also have an 8 shot .22 Mag, the 942, they're on par with Charter in price, but again, availability with Taurus revolvers is questionable. It has gotten better the past 6 weeks.
