I bought a charter arms undercover snubby today,it a 5-shot original charter arms gun. I really like it seems like a really well made gun. But I was wondering a few things about this gun such,as Will this gun work with S&W J-frame holsters and speedloaders? Also I was wondering if +p ammo would be bad for this thing? Not a steady diet just enough to sight in and for carry purposes? Thanks for any help guys.

J-frame holsters will work if they have a retention strap. The Undercover is slightly smaller than a J-frame. J-frame holsters that use friction to retain the gun will also work as long as the friction device can be adjusted like many high-end leather holsters or kydex types.

I have never used speedloaders so I can't say for certain. But comparing my older Undercover with my S&W 642-2 the chamber to adjacent chamber distance is very close between the two guns. J-frame speedloaders might work.

I have always shot standard pressure 38s in mine for the most part, maybe 4000-5000 rounds, along with a few hundred +Ps. The Undercover is still as tight as when it was new. Oddly enough it locks up better than any of my Smiths or Rugers have over the years. Go figure...cheap gun, perfect lockup.

I am wondering if the MKS takeover has improved assembly line quality control on current Charter production. If so, I would consider a new 44 Sp Bulldog.

My HKS speedloaders work in both my Charter's and my J frames. HKS's application chart list them as using the same speedloaders.

HKS or Safariland

The 5 round HKS and Safariland speedloaders (model J-C7) both work with the CA Undercover.

It depends on which type of release you are comfortable with. HKS call for a slight twist of the knob, Safariland just a straight push down to release.

Bianchi speed strips are handy too.

Don't know about the holsters, mine came with an original Charter Arms Model 200 holster for the belt, but I wouldn't mind finding a nice pocket holster for it.
