Hey all, I'm gonna be heading down to my inlaws nice little abode in Northwest GA over the 4th, and for the week afterwards.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any guns shows that are going to be held either weekend 3rdd or the 10th) or if there are any good gun shooting get together I could attend while down there. Last time we were down there (memorial day) there was a big show in Chattanooga, but I didn't find out about it till Sunday afternoon as we were driving to dinner.

I usually blast away in our back yard, but since my mother in law is recovering from surgery, the wife has requested I refrain from that. The National Forest Range outside of Villanou is nice, but a bit of a hike to get to. Plus, if Im gonna go somewhere to shoot, might as well shoot with friendly folks.

let me know. Thanks

There's suppose to be a Chattanooga Rifle & Pistol Association or Club. It's called the Chattanooga Light Brigade. I know because I bought one of their T-shirts @ Friendship this year. :D

BTW, go to Chickamaugua National Battlefield Park. They've got a gun collection that you shouldn't miss. It's only a few miles south of Chattanooga.

yes, I am very familiar with the battlefield museum. Its always a highlight of my trips. We go there, then drive over to the Plantation House for a vegetable plate dinner once every trip. Since the bypass has gone in, we finish up with desert at Sonic.

Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm

Dick Cheney made a special visit to the museum about 2 years ago - he was at an event in Chattanooga and postponed his departure especially to take in a trip to the collection - totally unscheduled (or at least as far as the museum staff was concerned)
