I don't know what all the sniveling about 10mm ammo prices is about. Reading is Fundamental, folks... $160/1,000, $185/1,000 and $190/1,000 are better prices than what most people spend on their .45 ACP practice ammo, which averages about $200+/1,000 except for the Wolff junk that is $160/1,000.
Even considering shipping, you aren't going to get factory ammo for many calibers much cheaper than $8/50 unless it is 9x19.

If a 1000rd case of GA's 10mm/180gn practice ammo for $190 (19-cents per rd) is "too expensive," then you might consider reloading.
FWIW, GA's "premium" 10mm self-defense ammo, using the Speer 180gn & 155gn Gold Dots, runs $260 for a 1000rds ($13.75 for 50rds), which is a much more affordable case price than a 1000rds of just about anyone else's "premium" 45 SD load.

Now, if by "cheap ammo" you mean "Turkish surplus cheap", then I'm sorry, you may in fact be too cheap to own a 10mm, but if by "cheap ammo" you mean "American Eagle/S&B/UMC/Winchester white box/et cetera cheap" then I can help you out. Two words: "Georgia" and "Arms".

Yes, 10mm ammo is slightly higher in price than most other rounds so, if you don't like or can't handle the prices, reload your own.
I can load full power 200 gr. National FMJ for $115.00/1,000 or Winchester 180 gr. FMJ for $130.00/1,000.
If it's HPs that you want, I can load 1,000 rounds of Winchester 175 gr. STHP for around $180.00/1,000 or $9.00/50 rds. National or standard Winchester HPs would be less.
These prices are purchasing the powder and primers locally and the bullets on line. This doesn't include the shipping on the bullets becasue you would have to pay that on loaded ammo anyway if you ordered it on line.
If you lucky enough to have gun shows in your immediate area, you can most likely find powder and primers for less.
I didn't include the cost of brass becasue, well... I have 3-4000 pieces of it lying around. You should have some if you have purchased the more expensive loaded ammo from time to time and didn't throw it away.
As far as the title line goes...I don't shoot "cheap" ammo out of any of my firearms.

If you save your brass you can get them reloaded at Bullseye (http://www.bullseyeguns.com/relammo.asp). If you purchase 500 rounds or more shipping is free. If you're not into picking up brass Natchez (http://www.natchezss.com/ammo/pistol/pa10mm.html) has CCI Blazer Ammunition 10mm , 200gr. , TMJ on sale now for $11.99 for a box of 50. I've fed this to my G20, G29, both of my 610s as well as my T/C Contender before I sold my 10mm barrel and never had any problem with it.
