Anyone having in luck finding inexpensive .45ACP 200 or 185gr SWC ammo? My usual source of Black Hills ammo has dried up recently. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
I think going forward, reloading may be the only cheap way to procure .45 or any other caliber. Metals are going through the roof. Ammo prices naturally follow.
my reloads are $74.50 per 1000 (that's $7.45 per 100)
I pay $50 for 1000 200 gr RNFP from powder valley
$18.50 for 1000 wolf primers from powder valley
about $6 for 4000 grains of titegroup, also powder valley.
total $74.50. don't believe it? Check out www.powdervalleyinc.com, the prices are right there for you. buy in quanitity, the shipping won't hurt as much.
Oh, and if you don't reload now....you need to be saving your brass. if you're already doing that... a lee turret kit is $100 or so from midway and has everything you need to reload pistol cartridges without any problems. It'll pay for itself real quick....you can load about 100 rds per hour on that press, if you're careful, about 150 if you're like me. ;-)
Moxie, that must be why I have 800 rounds. I can't help myself.
davinci, once I get into a new house with a larger garage, I'll be getting myself some reloading equipment. I will start off with .45 but will most like do 9mm and .223 as well. That should do me.
