Cheap Autoloader?

check out some of the military surplus auto loaders. the romanian Tokarev in 7.62x25 is a hot calibar (the 9mm parabellum is 19mm; the tokarev is a .32 at 25mm). with a C&R lic this sells for $200. likewise the czech cz-82 in 9x18 at $199. Less powered but 13 rd capacity. then there is the czech cz 52 in 7.62x25 at $125. i have a cz-82 and the delivered condition was like new. not bad for military surplus, and the czech firearms industry has been around for ages. cheap can mean unreliable. Unreliable can spoil a day of plinking. ammo prices are not too bad. everything has become expensive.

I was thinking full-size handgun.
The CZ-52 looks good.
Would that they made it in .45 ACP, though.

man quit putting cheap in quote marks, you're giving me the willies.
haha, if you really want to poke holes in me, go ahead already.

If you want, check out gunbroker.com and search around in the .45 pistol section. The cheaper ones are para ordinance and modern "colts"
You won't find the nice $300 deals, but you can hit around the $400 dollar mark.
if yo want $300 on a .45 go haggle at a gun show.

I picked up a near mint Llama .45 from a pawnshop for $215....Shot the crap out of it and sold it for the same price two years later with an ad in the paper....
They are sold cheaply because they have been out of business for years and have a reputation as a POS, parts hard to come by, etc....In my case, on the contrary.....:)

One of my cheapest used semi-auto handguns (got a CZ-52 for under $100 once, on sale at AIM):

CZ-70 $120 at a gunshow. Got a CZ-50 another time, same gun, similar price. Gave that one to my dad.

Good little gun actually. Reliable and accurate. As a winter project one year, I Gunkoted it silver and made some grippy grips for it with epoxy and sandblast media.

My cheapest NIB semi-auto handgun:

CZ-40B $270 at a local gun store about five years ago. The grips were extra. Very reliable and shoots nice. I used to shoot this gun in USPSA and it never hiccuped once. CDNN still has these for like $289. I should buy another one.

I see used ruger p90's and used sig 220's for around $300-$350 quite a bit. Both are very good.

Find a RAP-440 in 40S&W. Made in South America, generally $200, and replacement parts are available from EAA (Astra A-75 Parts).

I picked up a used Ruger P90th. I forget the exact price, but it was under $400... and that was at Cabela's, so it was most likely over-priced.

The 'th' mean it's two-toned and has hogue grips. IMO, it's much better looking than the regular P90s, and the grips are quite comfortable. Great gun.

Ruger P90th

sarco also has Star Modelo Super 9mms at $159, C&R. these supers 9s (9x23mm- the parabelum is 9x19mm) have more muzzle energy than .38 supers (which if i remember right were developed pre .357 mag as an anti car handgun round). i echo some of the sentiments about cheap. if you buy something that is unreliable as a plinker you will not enjoy it, and ay some point you will pay to replace it. if you buy it for defense, you risking too much.
