cheap long distance and help pro-2A causes

This for the newer members. I know many of us more senior members already use Marathon.

Marathon USA, a pro-2A long distance company. They will donate a percentage of your bill to GOA, NRA, or others. This from their web site:

what are the rates? It doesn't say anywhere what the per/minute is.

I've been using Marathon for about 3 yrs. Runs me
$1.95 for their service plus taxes and however long
I've been on the line and where to. Highest bill was
13.00 bucks. Usually runs about 6.00. They'll also
send a bit of money to your fav pro gun assc, etc.

I've never once have had a problem with them and
they're really nice folks to work with..>

Unfortunately, I haven't had a landline phone in...years. I don't understand why you'd want a phone that rings where you're not?

And cellphones, you don't pay any long distance at all. Maybe they should try some sort of deal with those?

You bring up good points Manedwolf. In my case my
last parent is housebound and needs 24/7 care. We
have a senior plan with the local phone company.
Our bill runs about 17.00 a month for both local and
long distance. In our case having more than one type
of phone service is critical when one has to deal with
intensive home health care.
