my friend just bought a desert eagle in .50-AE. and just for giggles bought a 30$ bsa red dot at wally world or werever, and guess what, one shot did the trick. the glass was rattleing and you couldn't see the dot anymore. also, the scope must have changed the recoil dynamic some how because the slide wouldn't travel far enough back to strip a fresh round. or in one case, the slide lock engaged on recoil. i guess the built in optics rail is more for looks than use. we fired ten rounds before taking the can off, and none would cycle. thought you guys should know.
