I read over on 6ppc page that these guys fire form thier new brass using red dot and other fast burning shotgun/pistol powders and wax or modeling clay to make dummy rounds to form thier cases.
Can I do this with 7mm-08 cases?
I have a excess headspace and I over resized my brass and don't really want to shoot up all my bullets if I don't have to.
Thanks

Curious, how did you "over resize" your brass? Were you using correct 7/08 sizing die?

Yea. If you used a 7MM-08 die, they couldn't be too bad. Sounds like you could just load and shoot them. What gives? How much excess headspace?

You could load the bullets long, jammed into the rifling around .020, with good tight neck tension, and that would help hold the brass back against the bolt when firing to keep from overstretching the brass at the web. "Fireforming with wax, if you have pushed the shoulder way back, will surely stretch the brass in the wrong place. When fireforming brass to blow out shoulders etc, one MUST use the bullet or part of a shoulder to hold the brass back.
