cheapest place online for jacketed .357/.38 projectiles

Hi All,

Where is the cheapest place to buy .357/.38 jacketed projectiles?

My dad gave me his .357 mag and i'd like to load for it. I've never loaded for a revolver before so roll crimping will be the thing to learn. The Speer manual says 110gr/125gr don't shoot as well as the 158gr.

So where's the best place to buy 158gr jacketed bullets? If JHPs are close to the same price i'd spring for those too. I like shooting my semis more so I don't need thousands, maybe groups of 250 or 500 will do.

Search for the missouri bullet company on google. Those are about the best for the price that iv'e found, and by that I mean they group really well out of my gp100.They are nonjacketed but I load 38 spcl with 4.2 gr of w231. Or the heavy 357 loads with 15.5 gr of 2400. Both are real accurate loads from my experiance. However you should referance a reloading manual to see what you think is safe and what you think would work best for what you need them for. I nor thr endorse the use of these loads. Haha, sucks but it had to be said. Bill

I have found case lengths can vary, if you want a consistent crimp you may need to trim the cases. I trim my .357 mag. brass to 1.279"

Thanks for the input guys. Other than 158gr is there another more favorable weight bullet? I've been seeing a lot of 125gr but not sure how the performance and recoil would be compared to the 158gr. bullets.

I used to shoot 125 gr JHP in my .357 and loved the load. I could shoot full "Magnum" loads and they had a very manageable recoil with fantastic accuracy from my 686 with 6" bbl.

Montana Gold now has one at $131 for a box of 1,000. Their prices are "delivered to your door". This is a jacketed bullet that can be run at high speeds without leading up your barrel.

There are some that are a few cents per bullet cheaper but I'm not a huge fan of plated bullets. The MG bullet is a jacketed bullet and isn't all that bad for small game/pests.

I'm a big fan of MG, but their 1000 pcs. prices aren't as good as their case pricing. I just don't think I would shoot 3000 pcs.....even in the next 20 years. Just not much of a revolver guy.

I buy 125 gr jacketed Zero's from Powder Valley. The last ones I got were 80 bucks per 1k.
