cheapest upper assembly for AR?

i have put a lower together for an AR a while ago, and it got put on the backburner. i am not looking to assemble a competition gun, or anything that is cutting edge(expensive). what is the most affordable upper assembly going right now? and yes, i do need a bolt carrier assembly.

Like most things, used is going to be most affordable. Next most affordable, for new, is likely to be something from Del-Ton, Inc. (DTI) or some others like Model 1 Sales, etc. Sometimes DPMS goes on sale for a good price, but it's unlikely to be less than DTI and DTI is likely to be better in some if not many ways.
