Checked out the Walther PPS today

And all I can say is "bad arse"! I haven't shot it yet but man is it sleek and slim and the striker sysyem has a great pull on the trigger when dry firing. I have been seriously considering a Kahr PM9 and then I compared it to this. Both I have yet to shot before buying but I think I can stand the ever so slightly larger PPS to carry IWB. It has some nice rounded corners as well and virtually no snag points on the outside of the gun.

And....the local shop has the PPS for $525!
 
PX15 could you post some pics showing the difference in width in those. My wife is considering a sub for CC.
 
Very thin pistol.

I have heard (on another forum) and read it in the latest issue of Gun World, that the spring comes off the Slide Stop. Could be a batch of bad springs maybe.

A spring is easy to fix usually.

It's a Walther. They'll have it worked out and perfectly reliable in no time IMO.

I don't have any comparison photos to show, but all I can tell you is that the PPS is VERY slim in comparison...

I HAVE seen comparison photos somplace else on a firearm forum but cannot remember where. Perhaps www.waltherforums.com (PPS specific sub-section).

I can guarantee you that if your bride doesn't like the PPS it WON'T be because it's too thick..

IF you were looking at a photo comparison of the Walther P99c/AS and the PPS.

Notice the difference in the 3 white dot sights.. I really like the larger ones on the PPS..

I've shot one. I liked it a lot. Slim, easy handling, good shooting, just a little ugly.

I'd like to try the .40 version when it comes out.

searcher451, that's actually a P99c in comparison to the PF9.

PX15, thanks for the photo of the PPS vs. the P99c. I've got a HK P2000sk and the PPS might be replacing it.
 
I saw the review in The American Rifleman and liked the gun. The review shows the thickest part of the gun is at the top of the slide at 1.04" and the thickness at the base of the grip and everywhere else on the receiver is 0.9".

They did not mention what the Trigger Pull weight was. For anyone who has handled one of these, any guesses or any real reference on Trigger Pull weight?

I handled one in a gun store a few weeks ago and was very impressed. It's basically a PF9 for people who can't stomach ugly guns. I may very well end up buying one.

Can't say about the trigger exactly but the gunblast review says 5lbsish.
 
They look pretty sweet wish my range would add one to their rental inventory.

In a semi-related note my company has the initials PPS and I have been trying to convince the owner to buy a PPS pistol and tell people he had it monogrammed.
 
Local Gander MT. has one that has first edition on it for $700. I checked it out & it is a nice weapon. Very thin with nice size sights. Price seemed high. All of their stuff has gone way up in the last 6 months.
