I was browsing around and came upon this amazing deal. A complete dedicated .22lr upper for you ar15 complete with bolt, two magazines and free shipping to us for $349. :what: Wow where was this when I bought my spikes tactical kit, and that was just the kit with one magazine for $199. add another hundred or so and you have a whole new upper. Chiappa makes great historical replicas firearms that I've read about, I too own their 1911-22 replica which I love. I don't know much about this upper but looks promising. Just in case someone was in the market for an conversion kit for their ar15, you might want to give this a look. If I can get a price on the complete rifle maybe I might consider getting another ar15. in the video she said around $400?

Pot metal. If my results with their 1911-22 is typical, stay away! What really chaps is I sent it back for warranty repair at my expense ($60 good money after bad) and it came back if anything worse :(

i'm sorry to hear, i've had very good luck with my 1911-22. I get occasional stove pipes with bulk ammo but nothing major relating to the gun. no not as reliable as my sw 22a but it is fun. I've also had very good luck with my gsg5 which is also a pot metal gun.

on crcooktube's youtube channel he mentions the m4-22 is plastic. wonder if the whole gun is plastic? maybe that's why it's cheaper in price.

If you do stay away from Chiappa, CMMG also sells a complete 22LR upper for $350 (http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/category/Dedicated-.22LR-Uppers-184). Theirs is basically a 22LR barrel and bolt, everything else about the receiver is as it would be on a 5.56 AR (minus the gas tube of course), so it has the bonus of accepting whatever AR handguards or other accessories you want to put on there. They'll also sell you a lower along with the upper in various configurations ranging from $500 to 700. I can't speak to the quality of the lower, I'm using RRA for that, but I've been very happy with the upper over the course of 10 - 12,000 rounds.

wow that's an even better deal, metal vs polymer? I much prefer metal construction for a rifle. thanks for sharing. I don't remember seeing cmmg selling them at this price, maybe I just haven't looked. thanks again

+1 on the CMMG dedicated .22 LR upper. I have had mine for about a year and ~5000 rounds. It is solid, well built and reliable.

chiappa just emailed me back, the whole gun msrp is $449. not too shabby. yes both upper and lower receivers are made of polymer and full m4 style barrel.

trigga just bought chiappa m4-22 upper from ar15pro last weekend $269.94 shipped to door here in ky. I'm putting on plum crazy lower $127.00 at Whittaker Gun's
