Back when I was about 5 or 6 my grandparents had a terrible infestation of assorted tree rats rasing heck with their birdfeeders and getting into the attic.
They had a very effective solution, an eager young hunter with a semi-quality pellet rifle. by the end of the summer we had completely lost count of how many had met their demise to the trusty pellet gun.
Gramp always said if ya shot one, ten would swing by for the funeral. Pretty sure he was right on the mark about that one. Of course it could have been the 8 or 10 stocked bird feeders they had that was drawing them in, don't know.. Do know I had boat loads of fun with it
