I am really surprised at the sagging IQ of the average American. It’s all tied to the glamorization of stupidity; be it self-aggrandizing you tube /snapchat moronics or a widespread and selfish urban-ghetto-thug life culture that ostracizes education. This phenomenon is pushing our Nations collective future down an intelligence slope that will be very tough to climb back up.

Legitimate gun related questions? I love to hear those.
Knucklehead questions? <sigh>..

Stay safe.

Ignorance doesn't bother me, we're all ignorant of some things. No one knows everything. Stupidity, on the other hand, is entirely different. One big aspect of stupidity is the inability to process information we already have.
A friend is a ccw and general firearms instructor whoe gives a thorough 2 hour class in a classroom covering firearms safety and the law both. Then she takes her students to the range where she supervises one at a time to have them show some degree of proficiency in handling a firearm. Fla law does require demonstrating competence, which she says is far more than popping a round off into a sand barrel. One student, after the 2 hours of training, picked up the firearm in the range port, pulled the trigger and when no bang happened, turned the gun around to look down the barrel. My friend quickly pinned her hand down to the port before she could get it more than half turned around and told her she just failed the class and that she wasn't going to be certified to carry. I know my friend covered what do do when there's no bang because she has a power point presentation that she uses and it's part of the presentation and my wife took the class to get her CCW.

Agreed. Again, no one knows everything and with someone asking good questions I have all the patience in the world. I was taught or learned those things, either by an instructor or my own research and I'll gladly pass it all along. I love learning things and I learn a lot on THR. So much more out there that I don't know.

This has, predictably, turned into a social commentary thread that's barely gun related. THR isn't the venue for it.
