Counterfeiting is very high on the feds' radar because:
- It's an economy issue -- counterfeits from China and other "emerging economies" take billions (with a B) from our economy every year.
- It's a safety issue -- everything from drugs (poison, effectiveness) to electrical products (fire, shock) to car brakes (slam!) get to the U.S. as counterfeits of well-known brands.
- It's a terrorism issue -- terror groups have funded themselves with the profits from counterfeits.
