Chinese SKS legality.

I just bought a Norinco SKS and want to make it as period correct as possible. The question I have for THR is it legal to put a bayonet on it? I've read a bunch online, but it's from 2012 or before and since I've seen that aimsurplus.com and others sites have Chinese SKSs with bayonets on them,I was wondering if the rules had changed any?

If it helps any, mine is a arsenal26 sn is 10220*** P the importer is KSI Pomona CA. It also has the bayonet lug.

Thanks for the help. The bayonet is not a deal breaker just would like to have it correct.

All of mine have bayonets on them.I think the Chicom SKS are now classified as C&R.It was only illegal in the minds of the ATF.As far as I know no one was ever prosecuted for having a Chicom SKS with a bayonet.

Thanks for the link Sam. I most likely will not get a bayonet, just to be on the safe side, even though this is SO annoying I mean it has the bayonet lug!:banghead: I guess it's just a good reason to get a yugo.

Blackhawk30 you are probably right. I've seen them at gun shows with them, but I don't want to be the first guy that they arrests and lose my right to own firearms over a bayonet that's mostly just for looks.

Anyone else who wants to ad their two cents please do.

I have a Yugo 59/66 SKS which has the bayonet and also the evil grenade launcher. All perfectly legal in Florida.

Now in California, the Yugo 59, which has the bayonet, but not the grenade launcher ,is legal. the 59/66 is not because of the grenade factor.

So, except for a few states you are perfectly cool with the bayonet. My 2 centavos!

But back in the day when $79.95 Norenco SKS's where stacked to the ceiling at every gun show.
There were matching boxes of Chinese bayonets for them being sold as really high quality 'tent stakes'.

The sale of 'tent stakes' pretty well kept pace with the sale of Norenco SKS's!

To this day I have never heard of anyone saying a word about it.
