I recently received an 870 as a gift. The guy that gave it to me also had a box with several magazine extensions in it that came with the gun. Four were Choate and two were factory Remington, there were two 2 shot extensions and the rest were 3 shot models.

I had never messed with Choate extensions before, using Tac Stars or Scatterguns for the most part. The cap at the end of the tube on the Choates seem odd to me, being plastic and held in place only by spring tension. Anyone ever have any problems with them? I understand that the Choates were some of the first readily available extensions on the market and they still sell today so they must be pretty good.

Unfortunately no springs came with the extensions so I will order some. Brownells has Scattergun springs in the two shot variety but I don't see any that will fit the 3 shot tubes. Anyone have a source? The Scatterguns are really just Wolff springs anyway, maybe they have a longer model sold elsewhere or would sell it factory direct?
