I just got a Choate Ultimate sniper stock for my Remington 700 ADL.

Mine came with this piece inserted into the bottom of the blind mag (see picture). I have no clue what it is for. The receiver would not fit with it in the bottom of the blind mag. I took it out and installed the receiver just fine, but I am wondering what it is for and if I need it. I hate leaving parts out of something like that. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks for your input.

tnieto, that's the free Ultimate Sniper keychain/bottle opener.

Likely it is to align and secure the blind magazine insert (the long metal piece that came with your ADL stock). It should fit with a little finessing, usually entails compressing the metal insert and setting it in that there piece and around your follower then carefully setting it in the action (best to have it all upside down then lowering the stock onto the whole works. Start your action screws and make sure your bolt still slides freely as the metal can and will interfere. It's a pain, but so is a misfeed.

If that isn't what it is then my next guess is a poorman's follower block for single feeding rounds but one way or the other I'd fiddle with it until it fit.

Best of luck.
Best of luck.
