Choosing a new .44 magnum

Whatever you do, keep your Redhawk!! Yes the SRH is a great revolver, I'm a Redhawk fan though. My 4" Redhawk has served me well. If you ever want to smooth up the action and lighten the trigger pull, just throw an aftermarket spring in it. As far as an addition, a Dan Wesson would be a great choice!

I handled the new "69" today at the PA Outdoors Show and was quite impressed. I'll bet it will be a little handful with stomper loads, but I'd put it on my list if I didn't have the .44 itch pretty well scratched.

I also just held a 69 about an hour ago. It definitely is an appealing package. If I reloaded for .44 mag instead of .45 Colt, I might have walked out of there with it. Seemed to have too much overlap with my FA 97 .45 Colt though for me to really justify it.

Taurus m44. It's in the raging series but not named so...which is why mine ran me 300 bucks in 98% condition, stainless. Ported and very smooth. Mine is all factory and I see no reason to change that. Trigger is crisp and light. Very smooth in da and breaks perfectly in SA.

No Taurus experience. Based on the $400-550 range mentioned, I would say any Ruger, Wesson or Smith that you could luck into around $500. If you went single action you could easily do a Blackhawk or Super Blackhawk for that price. Magnum Research works at that price point in secondhand market.
The only other .44 that would pique my interest at that price would be an Astra Terminator. N frame Smith copy with a 3"barrel I think. Tough to come across, but I see them now and again. Going rate is around $400. Good luck.
