I searched the threads here on THR and couldn't find much useful info on this revolver. I already have the Tracker version of the .44, but I hear that it's not really designed for a steady diet of WAM BAM full-power .44 Mag  . Is the Raging Bull more suited for this type of application. I want a .44 Magnum that is made for it, not a " Please shoot mostly .44 special " thrill gun. I'm thinking about trading off the Tracker for the Bull, please give me some opinions.

P.S - If it's worth it, maybe the Bull will tide me over until I can find that unicorn known as the .454 Alaskan :scrutiny: :D .

Others here have stated they have shot in excess of a few hundred full power loads thru their tracker .44 without any problems.

I somewhat understand your thinking about the raging bull, I am currently shopping and have decided on the tracker 44. I thought long and hard about a 44 bull instead but decided when I get a bull it will be at least a 454. I can’t see getting a bull just for 44mags.

just my thoughts........

Taurus' model 44 is an N-Framed gun that, like the S&W counterparts, will easily handle a diet of factory SAAMI spec .44 Mag.

If you want to shoot a bunch of the HOT STUFF (Buffalo Bore, Garrett Hammerheads, etc.) then the Raging Bull is a better choice. It's a larger frame with a double-locking cylinder. It will be bigger and heavier, though.

you want something that will outlast you, and will shoot anything you feed it, Get a ruger of any flavor. If you want a double action, get the Redhawk, and for super durability, get the Super Redhawk:) same thing with the blackhawk and super blackhawk.:)

But seriously, get a Ruger. If anything ever goes wrong, just send it to them, I hear they are very nice and will do you good service.

You gotta love when the response to a question about a Taurus is "Buy a Ruger/Smith". Nightcrawler is right on the money. The Raging Bull was made to fire the hottest loads money can buy. It can even be had in 500 magnum. My Raging Bull is so accurate, it's scary.

Yeah, I see alot of that happening when Taurus is mentioned. I know that Rugers are very durable, but the long-barrel Rugers just look so butt ugly in my opinion. I also hear that Smith and Wesson quality is declining lately. People are so Anti-Taurus, where are the Taurus owners on THR anyway  ??? Haven't had any trouble from my Tracker, just looking for something that squeezes more potential from the .44 mag.

Pics of my Raging Bull. I've never fired it, and I've had it for two years. But I currently have five other Taurus guns which have all been perfect.
