Christmas shipping woes thread

I've been wanting to order some stuff like a trigger, quad rail, Pact timer, etc but I moved back in late August and had to fill out change of address forms 3 different times because USPS keeps screwing up and sending some mail to my old house and some to the new, not sure whats happening and neither are they, just tell me to fill out the forms again. Every once in a while I swing by my old vacant place and find mail there. My wife gets paid toward the end of the month and her checks were about 16 days late, made Christmas shopping fun.

Gonna hold off on ordering anything until these people at USPS can get it right. So frustrating. It's weird, I've always been an Amazon prime member and we could always count on getting packages in 2 days, every once in a while 3 days but now, basically since covid and other electoral events, our mail and package deliveries have become erratic and unreliable.

I purchased a S&W 4506 via auction, rolling the dice knowing full well this is a perilous time to ship anything.
Well wouldn't you know it. It arrived in Seattle on the 16th and hasn't been seen since.
"Moving Through Network
In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late".

I'm about 70/30 that its gone for good, given where it disappeared.

Anybody else having shipping woes right now?
Well, did it ever arrive?

It’s not just USPS…our local Town FB page (3,000 people) is full of “XXX says a package was delivered….if you find it” posts, At least Amazon includes a photo to help you narrow down where they mis-delivered it!

... It seems history is repeating itself this year, I have another BFR this time in 45/70 that was sent Monday from some city in Florida. As of tonight (Thursday evening) the tracking system says it is still in Orlando.
Florida, and more specifically anything that transits through Orlando, is a problem using USPS. Holiday Rush + Snowbirds + Workers who move in "Florida Time" = The Black Hole of USPS

Well, a little update,
Well, did it ever arrive?
Nope. Still "In transit, arriving late", last known location: Seattle distribution center. Been that way since the 16th.
I contacted the seller, they said they are starting a claim. That was a few days ago and it still hasn't knocked loose, so I'm pretty sure its gone.

I have learned the hard way I just don’t order anything shooting/ reloading related during the holidays anymore. I see what I need about 6 weeks before the holidays start and get it then.

And the shippers answer to the problem has been to tighten the shorts on non FFL holders shipping. FedEx and especially UPS seem to be operating with gun thieves infested ranks.

That's horrible, sorry to hear it. I have a 4506-1. It was one of my kids duty gun for awhile.

My recent Midway order was 4 days late! Not a big deal as it wasn't ordered as a gift. My meds that come from a specialty pharmacy were a day early! Go figure............

USPS PRIORITY MAIL HAS NO GUARANTEE AND IT DARN SURE ISN'T TWO DAYS................duh.

....already gave you the link to their page verifying there is both of the above. Just continuing to say it does not exist on Social Media, does not make it so. While I did not receive the mailing in 2 days, I was promised it would be and I was reimbursed for the cost because they did not fulfill that promise.

Here is the link for the refund.......Refund Info

Here is the label on the mailing...... seeing should be believing, but believe what you will.

I had a substantial reloading shipment show that status for 10 days, called Midway and they took care of it, got my reshipment a few days later.

that’s why I try to stick with the big guys like Midway, Natchezz, Brownells, Grafs, etc…

I won’t order anything on Amazon unless it’s under about 30 bucks or i Absolutely can’t find it anywhere else.

How about a positive shipping story. I ordered a Meprolight RDS Pro V2 on 12/26 at 1:14 pm with free shipping from EuroOptic. My UPS driver handed it to me on 12/28 at 12:20 pm. 47 hours from PA to SD. It can be done!

Well it looks like that S&W got knocked loose from wherever it was hiding, went from "In transit, arrival delayed" last I looked a few hours ago, to

Great!!!

This isn't gun related but I ordered a new snow blower through Walmart.com on 12/23, with it scheduled for delivery on 12/26. It came late in the day and it was "some assembly required". There were NO LIST of the tools needed NOR was there any instructions on HOW to assemble the blower. Despite a couple of "false starts" where I had to undo then redo certain processes, it got finished.
I do not like to buy online and actually haven't in probably 20 years, so this was a first for me in a long time.

You keep writing PRIORITY MAIL then give links to "PRIORITY EXPRESS" big difference between the two.
Even your label shows priority not priority express.
