Anyone have some chronograph numbers from Unique and 124gr 9mm? Would be great if the data were RMR JHP. I've seen a heck of a spread from 4.0gr up to 6.0gr.

Trying to get some velocity behind these 124gr JHP from RMR Reloading. I didn't seem to get above 1100fps with True Blue like I was hoping, even into +P territory. Perhaps Unique will get me there. Otherwise I may have to try to track down a different powder, if anyone else has tried these RMR bullets with a different powder. As always, thanks for any replies.

124 gr Berry plated Target Hollow Point, (hate this bullet), with 5 grains of Unique, out of a CZ Scorpion, 1198, figure 100 FPS slower for standard pistol barrel.
124gr Hornaday XTP, 5.5 grains Unique, 1142 in CZ P-01, listed in notes as "reasonably accurate".
124 gr cast lead powder coated, 4.6 grains Unique, again in Scorpion, 1131 FPS.
124 gr cast lead powder coated, 5 grains Unique in Scorpion, (don't reccomend), 1235 FPS, too hot for regular lead.
124 gr Winchester Full Metal Jacket, 5.5gr Unique, 1181 FPS, pistol, note says "stiff"
124 gr Winchester FMJ, 5.2gr 1134FPS.
Hope that helps.

That helps alot. Thank you very much. I've been scouring the web for hours looking thru different forums trying to find some actual chrono data to compare.

5.6grn Unique and the 124grn RMR PRN bullet @ 1.135" gives me 1050fps out of my 3.6" barreled Kahr CW9... that is my standard full-house load with Unique. In my early days of reloading, I was loading 5.9grn Unique under a 124grn Winchester FMJ bullet, for my BHP... my only suggestion on going that high is to watch your OAL and crimp very carefully.

Oal is 1.120 with a .378 crimp. I was not able to change the oal by pushing the bullet against my bench, so looks like the dies are setup good. ( I know alot of people may not like the Dillon dies because of the coke shape, but they sure seems to help prevent any setback) Looks like my loads are probably in the safe range and about where I'm hoping to be velocity wise. Thanks for more chrono info.

I know some guys poo-poo the aggressive sizers, but I like them. Yes, it overworks the brass a bit, but I think it helps with neck tension and bullet setback. Even my .41 dies (Hornady) give me the coke bottle... but that way I don't have to smash the cases with as big a crimp to prevent setback in a tubular magazine.

Note the differences in our OAL... I'm going to guess the major difference is the RN vs HP design, and likely the internal dimensions are very close... but just something to consider as you near max charge.

I mentioned my 'early days' of reloading... I really got into trouble loading 9mm to high velocity back then, I was stuck on heavy bullets and high velocity, and by the time I abandoned reloading 9mm I was getting pierced primers and the hammer following the slide back into battery with my BHP. My old notes don't show OAL, because back then I didn't really pay much attention to seating depth... and I know that's where some of my troubles began. I did learn from my experience, however, as I took loading 9mm back up a few years ago (First Dark Age of Reloading...) I probably take more time on 9mm workups than I do any other pistol cartridge.
