Looking into purchasing a new chronograph. There are dozens of options and I'm bewildered. Shoot-through, Doppler, phone link...eek!
I just need a basic unit that is reliable, won't break the bank, and can be utilized for recording my handloads, black powder and archery stuff as well. Durability is a must, as well as the ability to see and record from a shooting bench at the range, where cease-fires only allow you to tweak and twiddle every 15 minutes or so. Visibility from the bench is also a must.

There are quite a few threads and posts about the new Garmin. One of my "vintage" items is a chronograph. It's simply an old style Chrony that neither I nor anyone else has managed to shoot yet. I'm fixing to get the new Garmin. I've seen them in use and the comments here have done nothing other than to confirm the choice. There is another one that they seem to be waiting on to come out. You may want to check those threads out.

I have checked them, and spent the evening last night watching chrony reviews and I concur...I'm sold on the Garmin. Now just need to figure out where to get the funds. ;)

I’m sold on the Garmin also. Maybe since it’s new to market prices will actually come down in a couple of years?🤞

I too was scratching my head on where to get the funds. I went to the reloading room for a look and decided to sell a few items that had been sitting around.
