INSTRUCTOR: Chuck Taylor

This highly condensed weekend course will be held at HALO Group in Concord, CA. It will provide the student with an all-encompassing look at the rifle from a totally practical standpoint and provides all the skills and knowledge needed to become an effective rifle marksman. Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll know how to hit targets quickly and accurately out to 200 meters and beyond from a variety of field-shooting positions.

Lecture/Discussion topics include Deadly Force and the Law; Effective Weapon/Ammunition/Support Equipment Selection and Small Arms Stopping Power. “Hands-on†topics covered include Correct Stance; Proper Sighting Under Stress; Tactical Carry & Ready Positions; Field Shooting Positions (Offhand, Sitting, Kneeling, Squat & Prone); Partial/Angled Targets; Use Of The Sling; Small Targets At Close Range; Responses to the Right & Left; Malfunction Clearance Procedures and Magazine Changing.

250 rds. Of ammunition and the usual shooting equipment (ear & eye protection, appropriate clothing, knee & elbow protection, 2 spare magazines & appropriate carrying equipment) are required. Optically sighted rifles OK. Bolt and lever action rifles also OK.

Whether you’re interested in self-protection or simply want to enhance your rifle skills as a hunter, you’ll find this course to be ideal. We guarantee it! Space is limited.

Looking forward to the pistol class this weekend, interested in this class as well, though I need a rifle. Have an old M1 carbine... doubt it could 'reach out' to 200 yards very well.

;)

I took his 2-day tactical handgun class when he was out here in Aug '02. Excellent training. Already signed up for the 2-day adv. handgun and carbine classes this year.

Wait till you see how fast Mr. Taylor can draw from concealment. :what:

A few years ago I fired a couple of NRA High Power Rifle matches with a Universal M1 Carbine. The targets were at 200 and all the slugs went through them point first. My score wasn't too bad either.

If you can shoot at 200 the Carbine will probably work there too.

Sven..there is a gun range out in Long Island which is basicly a 200 yard sand pit.
I regulary hit frisbees at 200 yards with my G.I. M 1 carbine.
No problem...

Sven

M1 Carbine is fine.

Any Rifle/Carbine is fine. Well, maybe not a .22, .50, or Black Powder.

Distance to targets will be about 100 yards max.
