A member of our organization took it upon himself to contact Chuck's Gun Shop and start a small fundraising drive for them. It's not officially affiliated with Ohioans For Concealed Carry, but it's being discussed on our forums. I donated some funds.

I was talking to my local shop owner who also had his shop protested at and have some good news. Riverdale passed an ordinance requiring a $3000 permitt for future protests so the next time those idiots come to town it will cost them. Melrose Park was supposedly passing the same law. Hopefully Lyons passes the same law so Midwest Guns is protected.

Not good news, as I see it. While it is inconvenient for Je$$e and company, the money is a pittance to them. On the other hand, such an ordnance will likely someday come back to bite us, less wealthy and less organized individuals, in the ass.

Free speech may be a pain sometimes, but I'd rather it remained free.

If the ACLU doesn't get to that ordinance first, anyone who is denied the right to protest because they didn't pay the government , can take that city to court and win on unconstitutional grounds, and thereby cost tax-payers lots of money, and make the city look extremely stupid. Who would vote for that nonsense? I understand the issue with a protest getting out of hand and costing a business money, but requiring a payment to allow a protest is asking for trouble.

The rational was that it was costing Riverdale $3000 dollars a day to staff police for these things. When these idiots have to get a permit well in advance, it is additional warning for us rather than last saturday when they just showed up a Suburban Sporting Goods.

I agree that Chuck should sue JJ if his business begins to fail. If he sufferes no loss, no harm, then no suit. Besides, I am not certain that one can sue for another being a mindless fool.

I lived in the town next to Riverdale IL, before I retired & moved in '96. If I remember correctly, Chuck's Gun Shop was owned by a retired policeman. Of course that was years ago and things change. Police officers from Chicago and the surrounding area went there. The gun grabbers closed down the gun shop in my town and some others in surrounding communities. Their tactics do work. They have driven out honest business owners whose only "crime" was selling a "politically IN-correct" product to law abiding citizens. They've succeeded in the past and will continue to do so in the "peoples republik of liberals"AKA Illinois. After all, they have hard core "Brady bunch gun grabbers" as elected officials in Gov Blagovich and "Da Mare" Daley. The "sheeple" of Chicago, Cook Co., and Illinois(larger cities) have been voting these "gun grabbers" into office since the turn of the 20th century. They bend over, grab the ankles and smile. They simply can not comprehend the fact that you can actually vote for something other than the "demcrat party." And the so-called "Reagan Democrats" are long gone from the scene. It is an up hill battle there and other "bastions of liberalism, socialism and communism." Je$$e "Jet$tream" Jack$on has honed his opportunistic "race baiting, race hustling, welfare & poverty pimping" scams on the streets of Chicago years ago. And the nation suffers his scams then and now. He has lost some currency, but, he has latched on to his ANTI-gun & ANTI-2nd Amendment bigotry with zeal. He is trying to recapture some "cachet" that he has lost, with his far leftist supporters. AND he believes he has found the perfect vehicle for his "resurrection" to the national & international scene. WE supporters of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the 2nd Amendment are fighting a formidable opponent. Do not take them for granted. Be vigilant! Be active!
