Cimarron 1911 (blued and chromed) quality questions

I think it's like a new car. When everything is perfect and new you park it out in the middle of the wal mart parking lot where nobody else is around and wash it once a week. Then you get your first scratch or ding and mannn so pissed!! So you try to buff it out with 3 different waxes. Then you get a couple more scratches and not quite as mad. By 6 months you've slapped bumper stickers on it and gone 2 months without washing it.
