Hello everybody!
Welcome to the final installment of my Cimarron blued 1911 thread series. What a journey this has been! I promise this is the last one, because I'm now searching for one to acquire myself, and will do so pretty soon, as soon as I can find one. I guess that shows what my threads have shown me about the quality of the Cimarron; I've decided once and for all to buy one! I've already ordered a pair of Colt 1918 repro grips, and will buy purchase a Cimarron as soon as I can find one to buy, which is why I have made this thread. >>>
I simply cannot find one! The link I found and posted on an earlier thread is useless now, as the listing is sold out, and I just cannot find a blued model for sale. The range I'm looking for is what they usually go for; around 500-540-ish, and of course, brand cherry new! If somebody could help me find one for sale I'd appreciate it so much!
Thanks everybody, you've been fantastic - Ray

Thanks Imashooter, for the link and info! I'll definitely keep my eyes open.
The website and ordering procedure for CMC government supply is a little bit wonky, but from what I've heard the company is pretty legit.
I sent them a quote request though on the Cimarron and I got this from them:
"CIMARRON 1911 A1 45ACP 5
CMC SKU # CIM1911P
Our current Discount Price is $527.27 each.
We have 0 in stock to sell right now."

I'll just keep looking, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. On another note, should I be worrying about the age of the inventory from anybody? In other words, should I worry about Cimarron's having sat in warehouses for years, with a corroded bore and general surface rust? How will I know it is a "new" gun? Is this fear superfluous?
I will post an update when I find one for sale! Until then, assume I'm still looking. I'll try to post pictures when I get it, as soon as I can. And if you could, aid in helping me find one for sale would be great!
Many thanks everybody! -Love from Ray

As a safety net, add this to a "wishlist" at Buds. You'll be under no obligation to buy. When they get these again, that should generate an email notifying you of its availability. Their prices and free shipping are normally difficult to beat. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_24/products_id/714007840

If it happens make sure it's the polished blue version. The bold title says "Polished" and the specs show "black" which I interpret as parkerized.

kygunco: Good place. click on "notify when available" http://www.kygunco.com/cimarron-1911a1-45acp-5in-fs-8rd-polished-blued-walnut--70047

On wednesday there were 2 polished blue ones on gun broker. I bought one after a few days of sleeping on it. The other listing came with a nice leather gi holster for $680 I think and it's gone now too. I don't think they're that rare though I think your best is going to be to watch gunbroker.com and keep a close eye on the buds post.

I wouldn't worry about the gun being corroded or damaged from sitting, these things are oiled up with preservatives at the factory.

If you are willing to arrange shipping with the seller, I found 1 for you here.

Also if you just have to have one now, buds has polished nickel in stock.

Thanks Elano!! I'm just going to keep looking. I saw that listing, but for almost 100 dollars more and with it bring used (I just feel like a new gun) I don't mind waiting for a new one to pop up. Thanks again!! yours truly - Ray

They're not rare but when another batch of them is manufactured and distributed they can be normally be had in the high 4s to low/mid 5s. High 4s will typically have a 30ish dollar shipping charge tacked on. Patience will pay off. I'd be very surprised if you don't get one at a good price within the next 6 weeks. Just watch all the typical sites daily.

Thanks, dude! I'll keep both eyes open. Before long, one way or another, I'll have a 1911 to share with you all (pictures). I'm not limiting myself to the Cimarron as long as the model in question is more or less GI and has bluing that I think looks good. I'm eyeing a couple.
Thanks everybody
Yours truly, -Ray

Hello everyone,

thanks again for everybody's support! It's been amazing and has provided me with a wealth of information. However, regardless of all of the trials and tribulations I've put people through to educate myself on the Cimarron, I have decided not to buy one (for the time being). It does look like an awesome gun, and It will definitely remain on my wish list, but I can't find one for sale and there are other guns that I would love to have, one in particular that I will probably soon obtain (hint: its name begins with "G" and ends with "lock", and has nothing in between). So I'm sorry to disappoint you folks, but the good news is that I'll still have pictures to post. Sure, they won't be of an item as shiny and blue as the Cimarron, but the weapon in question will still be a sweetie, no doubt about that. Let me know folks whether you want pictures posted on this thread or a new one (or if it matters), cause I know I've been making an awful lot of threads lately.

Thanks again everybody
yours truly -Ray

What??? You want to go from a classic design and a really bright and shiny 1911 to a modern technology design and what is a really, truly, dull looking Glock?

I thought we raised you better than that Ray.

Just kidding. Above all else you should always get the gun that bests suits your needs and situation, even if it is a Glock instead of beautiful, bright, shiny blued Cimarron 1911.

I'm sorry!!
You guys tried to raise me better, but your pleading I've denied.
I do love the 1911, and it still is my favorite gun. I don't even think the Glock is a better gun for me (quicker, easier, more seductive) but since I've resolved myself to get a gun promptly and the Cimarrons are nowhere to be found, I've decided to put the Cimarron on the back burner for the time being :uhoh:. I would have gotten one If I could have, or even if I could have gotten an assurance from Cimarron that some would be in stock soon, but I simply couldn't wait! Also, I always needed both. It's just a matter of which one comes first...I do kind of wish I got a 1911, but I believe the Glock is a fine option for me right now, and 1911's go on. There'll be plenty of time for them later on, probably.

I'll get a 1911 some day. I have to, I have no choice.

Imashooter, I'm sorry, but I'll be forced to post pictures. And you'll be forced to see them:cool:
I'll try to post pictures that make it appealing to limit the pain ✨

The Glock is on its way, should be here by next week, or the week after at the latest.
Thanks fellas, I am excited about my new baby
Yours truly - Ray

I talked to a gunsmith last week about polishing up a 1911. He charged $200 for a polish and reblue to look like the colt royal. I also spoke with fords in FL which is the company who polished the cimarrons. They will do one for $320. A new colt government is about $750 shipped on buds. So for around $950-$1100 you can have a custom full polished 1911 which is the real deal colt. I would have done that if I had the money to swing it. The colts also come with NICE grips factory.

I want to get a glock too, I just refuse the spend the outrageous amount people are asking for their used ones. $400 for a gen 2 g19 old beat up cop gun? Anyway, I hope to have one of those one day. I was looking at a FDE color glock 19 gen 3 in academy sports for $560 OTD. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on one so I got the cimarron instead. hmmmm Man I love guns!!!! So many to buy so little $!!

Hey there Elano! It has not come yet unfortunately, hopefully it'll arrive by next Friday or so...
This afternoon I did have something arrive, though.

I'll upload photos of the actual holster when the gun itself gets here:neener:

Ray,
If you change your mind about the Cimarron, keep your eye on Cabela's. They get them in from time to time but they don't last long. I've seen at least 3 of them at their Ft. Worth store in the past year.

Hey Texagun!

Thanks a ton for your reply, but i'm actually keeping my eye on another 1911 currently. If it ends up in my hands (which I think probable) I will post pictures for sure, along with pictures of my Glock :p.

Thanks again everybody!
