Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this Citadel M1-22 rifle? I recently placed an order for one, through the Kentucky Gun company and I am eagerly waiting my order. They seem to be very backed up and could be up to 2-3wks before I get the rifle. I have read on a few threads that you are able to swap out the original M1 carbine with the stock of the M1-22 carbine. I have read mixed reviews, but overall it seems to be liked. Any thoughts on this gun?

I wish I knew how to delete this post. I found an excellant review of the Citadel M1-22LR, at "RimFire Central". Don't get me wrong, I love THR, but with this being a rimfire rifle, I should have looked there first. It answers almost all the questions on the rifle. Here is the thread: RimfireCentral.com Forums > Other Rimfire Guns > Misc./Other Rimfire Brands/New citadel M1 22lr carbine

I have read reviews and I get the impression they are junk. Too bad, they looked pretty good.

From everything I have read (18 pages worth), the early models did not fair too well. The new models seem to have had most of the issues worked out, according to the folks that have bought them. I should have mine in a couple of weeks, so I will know first hand.

I looked at one last week and wasn't very impressed. Looks good from a distance but in hand it impresses as a very cheaply made rifle and the front sight was canted. I'd rather build a 10/22 to look like one, no matter what anyone on RFC says about them.

Then it would be a match for my read M1 Carbine.

Well everyone, just picked up my rifle yesterday and I have to say it looks really good. I can' wait for this weekend, so I can put some rounds through it. All in All, the rifle appears to be very well built. I will check in next week and let you all know how things went.

do you have the wooden version or polymer? pics would be nice also

ifit: I have the polymer version. I would have gone with the wood, but the price didn't seem worth it and now I don't have to worry about if I get any scratches. I will try and remember to upload a couple of pics when I get home tonight.
As for the shooting; all went well this weekend. I wasn't able to get it out to the range, due to flooding, but the hunting club works just as well. I ran about 250rds through it, 50rds were as fast as I could pull the trigger and zero hangs/malfunctions. The trigger pull leaves a lot to be desired, as it feels like about 20lbs, but I believe a little polishing will ease that up. The bolt and guide rod sping felt really good, not a lot of wiggle and ejection was way over the top (literally). It ejected cases about 10+ feet away, back and to the right. My sons (10 & 6) loved it, I think mainly because of its weight and size. Very light and small frame worked well with their body build. I used CCI mini-mags and remington golden bullets and had zero malfunctions in those 250rds. I do agree with most about the rear sights being flimsy, as they are fully molded plastic, so I may invest later in the $25 metal rear sights. I forgot what the brand was, but someone on the forum talked about changing theirs out. Over all, I paid $262 out the door, to include transfer fee and that is not bad for a little plinker that the kids and I love. KNOCK ON WOOD, but so far it looks like this was a pretty good investment. Only time will tell how it will last, but I am a firm believer it is in how to take care of things as well. I will try and get a couple of pics on here later.
