Mods,

I apologise in advance if this is posted in the wrong place but, I wanted to share something I recently saw and wasn't sure where it should go. Please take a look and do as you see fit.

I went to see "No Country For Old Men" this weekend and during the previews, there was a National Guard/Music Video/Tribute....I thought it was very powerful. It takes you for a ride from the birth of our Nation to present day and the role we played in it....gives me chills.

Enjoy..

I'm just being nit picky but it drives me nuts that they lump the 1700s militia in with the National Guard like that.

They are two totally different things.

One is a trained branch of the armed forces the other is about the same as your hunting/fishing buddies, coworkers and neighbors deciding one day to fight the government. The National Guard didn't exist 150 years ago.

The other nit picky thing is I HATE how the government is allowed to deploy the National Guard to areas outside of the United States. At that point they aren't really 'militia' at all anymore and are just run of the mill armed forces. To me it is really dishonest to show advertisements of how they are here to defend us from invasions and natural disasters when the reality is a long foreign deployment for a large number of them at least right now.

That said it I like seeing the commercial.

Awesome song and video. My wife and I went to see Beowulf this weekend, and they played it before the movie.

BTW, digital 3D is quite remarkable. During the movie, we found ourselves dodging stuff during the fight scenes...
