I recently picked up a Browning Citori Grade I Hunter, serial number PN which puts it as an 89. It has 3" chambers, 28" Inv. barrels, and is in overall excellent shape. There is absolutely no rust on the gun and the wood is in excellent shape. However, there are two things that are bothering me and I was wondering if anyone had seen or heard of these things.

1. When the gun is shaken back and forth, it sounds as if there is something loose inside the trigger mechanism. The gun works great and has never failed to fire. Is this normal for a O/U or should there be no sounds whatsoever?

2. It sounds as if some solder as come free in between the barrels. I don't recall the sound being there when I first purchased the gun, but after a few dove hunts I began to notice it. Should I be concerned about firing this gun? I have no reason to believe that there is significant rust in there, but I remember once checking out a Superposed that sounded like it had sand in between the barrels which was definitely cause for alarm. This is more of a slight "tink, tink, tink" metallic sound that you can hear when tipping the barrels up and down. The vent rib is solid and not loose.

I appreciate all help and advice in advance. This is my first Browning O/U.

well i got a stoeger condor o/u and it makes that sound like something broke off inside but it shoots fine. i always wondered this too.

It's definitely not the ejectors. You can hold them to keep them moving. When you tip the barrel up and down I can hear it running the length of the barrels...

if its in the barrels it could be junk that came loose in between the barrels. Take the barrels off and see if its the barrel or action thats making the noise.

I have definitely determined that it is in between the barrels. It shoots great, nothing else would lead me to believe something's wrong. I guess it's just a nuance of my gun...
