Received these today from CMP sales. 10 standard GI 7-rounders, dated 6/30/1992 still in the factory packaging. I believe these are Checkmate manufacture (CAGE Code 1M291). Set me back $86.95 shipped, so not too bad for a batch of range/plinking mags.

Presumably these aren't reliable with anything but 230 grain hardball?

The guns themselves were designed to function reliably with fmj ammo though Springfield Armory Rail gun had 3 chimney pipe stoppages out of 200 rounds Federal 230gr Aluminum cartridges using eight round Wilson Combat magazines. I would think barrel ramp design would have more to do with cartridge reliability in this gun, but there is only one way to find out. At $8 plus shipping these were good deal.

Do not assume either way on magazine reliability. Test with the loads you want to use. Many loads and bullet shapes will work just fine with GI mags while "big bucks" magazines are often finicky.

You do need to check magazines with whatever ammo you're using. FWIW all my 1911 mags are Colt or GI. All work with whatever ammo I put in them.

I believe it's been a while, possibly a year or more. I guess these are surplus to requirements.
