SOT= Special Occupational Tax
And there are
Three classes
The classes of SOT holders:
Class
1 - importer of NFA firearms
2 - manufacturer of NFA firearms
3 - dealer in NFA firearms

After the GCA of 86 went into effect, it banned further mfg for civilian consumption of machine guns. Hence the there are terms like Pre May DS Sample, Post Sample, and Pre 86. A civilian can only buy pre 86 stuff!

So you are tellling :what: me it is transferrable to a civilian and if I found a Pre 86 HK MP5 for $7500 cash I should find a way to come up with the money??!!? AM I right in my assumption? I have not seen one for less than $13,000 if so!

$7500.00 Sounds like the going price for a pre 86 Dealer Sample MP5. Meaning only class III dealers can buy it.

But yes, if someone is selling a transferable MP5 for $7500 then go get a loan if need be. That is a SUPER deal.

If it's made by H&K and not a converted 94. It is a dealer sample as they did not import them before 1968, all import MG after 68 are dealer samples.

However if it is a converted 94 transferable for $7500 BUY IT

If you don't want it post the info as it is a SUPER DEAL

they did not import them before 1968, all import MG after 68 are dealer samples.

Some DID make it in prior to the '68 GCA. If you see one, add $5,000 to the current going price of $15,000 for a transferrable MP5.

that price sounds way too good to be true for a transferable MP5. even a transferable sear pack is over $10k.

before you throw $7500 at the seller make sure he is legit. especially if his name is Dana Reed out of Florida.
