That is why I said he was probably an SOT. Special Occupational Taxpayer. We can build machine guns.

I read that in the thread about the AK with the burning handguards. So, since its pretty common knowledge that people cant build machine guns, which i now know I am incorrect, whats the deal here? How does one become a SOT?

How do you get an SOT?

You get an FFL.

Pay the fee ($500 or $1000 based on your yearly sales $ volume)

This fee is due July 1. Every year.

Then all you have to do is open a business, do commerce, satisfy the ATF's requirements that you are doing business for others and not just yourself and your buddys and then pay that tax again, but do it before July 1.

Auto Ordinance says there full auto line is for Police/Military use and export purposed only. Can you export them?
You have to build them for sale to the Military or Police Dept's. You cannot build them under an SOT for yourself.

So, do you have to produce the full auto under a "charter" or contract for the law enforcement/military? And also, If your producing them for law enforcement/military use I assume you can shoot them to make sure they work and such?

You can make them as demo models, but you better be doing some demos or you're going to be SOL.

You may export weapons if you get a variance from the US State Dept.

You may make weapons for law enforcement.
