Does anyone know, especially you Class III dealers, what the current wait seems to be as of late, concerning Class III transfers? My BATFE check was cashed sometime mid-September. Am I getting close?

Should be drawing near. Give them a call, have your item's serial number handy. :)

I just got a stamp 2 weeks ago, it was right at 90 days. It was my first one, but I am a CHL holder and 03 FFL.

Wsa this your first stamp? The first always seems to take the longest. As others advised, give them a call and have your serial number handy. IIRC, all they'll really tell you is whether it's pending or approved.

Turnaround time was really good when Ken Houchens was at the helm of NFA (I had a few transfers go 30 days, mailbox to mailbox), but unfortunately, Ken has moved on. Probably fired him for being too competent and efficient to work at BATFE.

My last few transfers have been in the 90 day range (spring/summer this year). I've got one or two cooking which are currently at about the 70-80 day mark. If you get 90 days without approval, give NFA a call and check status. Prior to Houchens, 90 days was an average, with some going 120 or longer. I've had one or two go to about 270.

It is my first one actually... September 26th was the actual date according to my records.

Will they mail the approval to me at home, or to my Class III who will then call me?
